...behind D’Amor ragionando there is another, more fundamental aim: that of bringing the texts into a closer relationship with the music and giving new life and depth, from both the literary and dramatic points of view, to the language, verse forms and rhythms favoured by Landini and Antonello for their expressive power and which they sought to defend in writing these ballate.
