Independent modernist, Pascal Dusapin is already an established composer (one of the greatest of the Contemporary Music) considered as an original creator in all the musical domains. His approach is original, as his unexpected language, full of unconformity, very personal and expressive, tonal and atonal. A prolific composer of short and concise pieces (rarely more than 20 minutes, except the operas, for which he writes the libretto), giving way to an impression of emergency and brilliance and of important literary dimension (poetry, philosophy, moral), in a style that imposes itself to the ears. The Arditti Quartet is also one of its faithful interpret and has created the 5 quartets recorded on the disc. It has a prestigious place amongst the specialists of the contemporary repertoire. All the ingredients are thus gathered in this disc to make it a rarity of the moment.
